Do You Have A Fungal Infection?

Greetings!

Do you get frequent colds, have sinus issues all the time, have a foggy feeling in your head that will not go away, do you have dry skin or dandruff and/or do you have fungus on your groin and/or nails? Well, if you answered yes to any of these questions, you might have an overgrowth of candida (fungus) in your gut. In this newsletter, we will take a look at what fungus is, what causes it, what are the symptoms and how to eradicate it.

Do you have a fungal infection?

What is fungus?
Candidiasis is an infection caused by a yeastlike fungus called candida. It can infect the mouth, vagina, skin, stomach, and urinary tract. Approximately 75 percent of women will get candidiasis of the vagina during their lifetime, and 90 percent of all people with HIV/AIDS develop candida infections.

What causes it?
Fungal infections such as ringworm are caused by types of fungi that like warm, moist areas of the skin, such as between the toes or fingers, in the groin, and on other parts of the body where there are folds of skin. Ringworm is not caused by a worm. The fungus can be carried by kittens and puppies, combs, brushes, pillows, hats, and towels, and is found in areas that are warm and moist, such as locker rooms and showers.

What are the symptoms?
Ringworm of the body looks like a rash that forms one-half to one-inch, ring-shaped, pink or red patches with a clear center. The rash may itch slightly. Jock itch appears around the groin area (but not on the penis) and looks like a red, ring-like rash. Jock itch can be extremely itchy and form small, painful blisters. Athlete’s foot appears between the toes as a scaly, itchy rash. It can range from mild irritation to cracking and peeling, making the skin quite sore and more susceptible to bacterial infection. Scalp ringworm may cause round patches of hair loss, broken hair, and/or an itchy, scaly scalp. Scalp ringworm is extremely contagious among children. Nail ringworm is more common on the toenails than fingernails, and makes the nail appear thickened and dull. The infected part of the nail may crumble away from the rest of the nail. Sometimes a fungal infection on one part of the body can cause a rash on another part of the body, which is an allergic reaction to the fungus.

What to do?
1. Follow the Kaufman Fungal Diet for 6 months. You can purchase the book, the Fungal Link or email me for the protocol. There are 2 phases and each phase is 3 months. This diet will starve the fungus, as fungus feeds on sugar!

2. Follow this protocol for 2 months:
a. Oregano oil or caps ( 4 drops of oil on your tongue   4 times per day or 1 cap 4x per day)
b. Castor bean oil caps: 3 caps 3x per day
c. Cancid Forte: 2 caps 3x per day

If you are unable to find these, please call and you can place an order through us.

3. Eliminate all sugar, dairy, soy, gluten containing foods, grains, alcohol and table salt for 6 months.

4. Eat organic foods only. As most conventional chickens, cows and fish (yes fish) are fed genetically modified grains!

5. If you are suspicious and you want testing, you can order a fungal lab from us at EastWest Healing and Performance. Please call or email to learn more about this lab.

Hopefully we have connected with some of you today, as well as educated you. If you have a lot of these symptoms, please keep in mind it can be fungus, but other bacterial, parasitic or physiological dysfunctions as well. If you are interested in testing, a consultation, or want to learn more, please email us or call the number below. Don’t forget we are at a new location, so if you are local please come visit us at the address below. As well, we have some great new opening packages, special deals, lunch time boot camps and nutrition boot camps that will suit everybody’s needs!

Client with Dermatomyositis

My client is 53 and was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called dermatomyositis. From what she has been told, the immune system attacks and destroys the muscles and that the sun triggers the worst part of the disease. She has been working with doctors/nutritionist/kinesiologist/gastroenterologist to get the muscle enzymes under control and deal with a gluten intolerance and celiac spru. She has explained to me that her doctor has warned her about exercise, “when the disease is active, efforts to work out only break the muscles down more.”

Any information/advice/practitioner/resources would be greatly appreciated to help take steps to further health and happiness.

ANSWER:
As you are finding out, one of the most common diseases that keep popping up with clients is of the immune system. You would think that this would speak to our society (in which it is, they are just not tuning in), letting us know that we are going overboard with everything we do. I think every month now we keep seeing a new “autoimmune disease, “ and they just keep coming! But when you break it down, it is all about self, fighting self and them all having issues with their immune system attacking their own bodies. Yes each disease has a different name, but so do sneakers and when you break those down, a sneaker is just a sneaker.

What does autoimmune mean?
Literally it means immune activity directed against the self. The Immune system fights the body itself (Auto==self). In autoimmune diseases, the immune system makes a mistake and reacts to the body’s own tissues.

What is inflammation?
Literally it means setting on fire. It is a protective process our body uses when tissues are injured. Inflammation helps to eliminate a foreign body or organism (virus, bacteria) and prevent further injury. Signs of inflammation include; swelling, redness, pain and warmth. If the signs of inflammation are long lasting, as they can be in lupus, then damage to the tissues can occur and normal function is impaired. This is why the treatment of most autoimmune diseases are aimed at reducing the inflammation.

What happens with Dermatomyositis?
This is a class of autoimmune diseases called myopathies. With this one in particular, there is such an immune system response, that the skin develops redish purple rashes and patches. They particularly are abundant in the eyelids, armpits, elbows, wrists, fingers, knees, ankles and toes. They are found mostly where major joints are located and where muscles work to extend or flex a joint. There is not much research to show why this happens, but I am going to give you some recommendations that will help strengthen the immune system and hopefully bring your client to a point of being symptom free. This does not mean cure, all is means is that you are bringing your client closer to homeostasis by reducing their physiological load.

1.    Begin with the 6 foundational principles in Paul Chek’s book How to Eat, Move and Be healthy. You can find many references to this and articles/Q&A’s of Paul Chek’s and myself on Ptonthenet.com.

2.    Begin with the 4R gut healing protocol. You can find this in many of my other posts. According to Michael Gershon in The Second Brain, “70-80% of the bodies immune system is in the GALT system of the gut!” So healing the gut with the 4R Gut Healing Program (Remove, Replace, Reinnoculate, Repair) over time with assist in your clients healing.

3.    Have your client purchase what is called Dimethyglycine (DMG) and take 1-3 caps sublingual 3 times per day. DMG is a nutrient found in the body, but also in plants and animals. It has been found to be effective the nutritional environment of the cell. It has been found to support the immune system by allowing better utilization of 02 at the cellular level. You can purchase the 250mg tabs from DaVinci Labs out of Vermont, MA. (www.davincilabs.com)

4.    A couple other things I would do would be to refer her to a practitioner that can run these labs or just refer her to the lab companies themselves:
a.    Biohealth Diagnostics: 201 (adrenal), 207 (expanded hormonal), 401h (stool test for the gut)
b.    Metametrix: Comprehensive Organix Profile which test for: cell metabolism, B-complex vitamins, NT, antioxidants, detoxification and dysbiosis
c.    Why you might ask, because we have external stressors that affect our inside biochemistry, as well as internal stressors that can make our biochemistry much worse. It is better to throw darts with light, than in the dark!

5.    Some other great techniques to strengthen the immune system are: acupunture, herbs, engery work, tai chi and qi gong.
Hopefully this helps you to get started with your client. Anytime you have a client with a disease such as this, the goal is not to figure out why. Autoimmune diseases are so chronic, that it is the accumulation of many stressors that are creating dis-ease. The goal is to pull things away from the body to so call “put out the fire.” Start slow and progress and let your client realize that this is a 1-2yr process to get closer to homeostasis.
