No One Can Hurt You!
Well, yesterday I was listening to one of my favorite audio programs by John McMullin of www.journeysofwisdom.com. He is a Holistic Coach and the most intuitive being that I have ever talked to and met. You gain so much knowledge about oneself when working with him or listening to him, it is undescribable.
I was listening to a program called Healthy Expressions of Anger. Most anger that people have is from fear, their inner child rebelling against their inner adult, the ego’s perception of what has been said, the illusion of what has been said and one taking ownership of the other persons projections.
To keep it short, here is the most important thing I learned and I wanted to share it with you all: No one can hurt you. You can only allow someone else to hurt you. It is all about owning your OWN emotions. When you allow others to hurt you, you are taking ownership of what the other person is projecting onto you.
Posting on Mercola’s Website
Today as with any other day, I take part in blogging frequently on Dr. Mercola’s site www.vitalvotes.com. He put up an article on preventing cancer, which I fully agreed with. On another note, I feel that everyone continues to focus on the external means on how we get it: food, sun, transfats, etc. What if you looked on the inside to see where this could be coming from?
On a mental/emotional and spiritual level, you can correlate certain cancer (throat, gut, brain, etc) with people that have certain dysfunctions within various chakra’s and elements within their body. Most Americans live in fear of themselves and their success (kidney- correlated with teeth, bones, head hair= how many people besides the ones on this site have head hair, healthy teeth and bones?), are anxious all the time (spleen and stomach- most have detox issues, GI issues and ST cancers), keep their emotions, feelings and thoughts inside (throat cancer and brain) and have a lack of personal power and self will (the solar plexus). These are just my own correlations from clients that I have had.
It is interesting when working with clients to correlate their dysfunctions with an organ system, then correlate it to the mental, emotional and spiritual dysfunction they have within their life. If you study some of the ancient chinese and indian medicines, they believe that every dysfunction begins with a negative emotion, thought or belief system.
Everything we do begins with a thoughts. If you are anxious, hold things in, don’t like the life that YOU want and live through or for others, don’t think for yourself, bottle up your emotions and live in fear of self, most of the time you are giving energy towards these dysfunctions. Thoughts carry energy and every time you hold something in, etc, you feed these energy dysfunctions with negative energy. Hence over time you can create disease, dysfunctions and cancer.
Breathing Difficulties
Josh,
I have a 4 yr old who has had swollen adenoids for a long time? As well, I have a client who has says he has less than 10% intake through one nostril. I have tried everything I know, I have sent him to an ENT with no success. Help!
Samantha,
Here are my thoughts:
Adenoids are in the back behind the tonsils and are there to trap bacteria that is breathed in. One thing you can do is fill a small turkey baster like took with warm water and salt and squirt them day and night. This helps!
My opinion, most kids have forward head posture which creates retrusion of the mandible, malocclusion and mouth breathing. If you mouth breath, you are not using your nose. There are certain hairs, mucous and epithelial in the nose that are used to trap bacteria, etc. If you are not using your nose, well then you use your mouth, which is not equipped for this. I would work on correcting his breathing pattern. You can do this by following some of the recs below from a previous response I posted, use essential oils, etc.
Breathing is one of the most important survival mechanisms that we have. Youare seeing this within your client. When there is a dysfunction withbreathing, the body will do everything in order to compensate so we stillbreathe. I am sure the ENT knows what he is talking about. To me, it soundslike he has a breathing issue; it is more a symptom from everything else. That is most likely why the ENT gave the A OK! At the same time, most dobreathe more out of one nostril, which is OK as long as there is not morethan a 10% difference between R and L.
Here are my thoughts in no particular order:
1. The first thing I would do would be to use the tools that you knowhave, as well as refer them out to a CHEK Level 3 or higher. From there, once the program is written, you can work with your client by taking themthrough it. The only reason being is because as a Level 3, you learn aboutthe totem pole, how to asses it and work with it. I am sure he has acervical issue, but that not might be the only thing. As well, Level 3’shave the exercise knowledge as well that you might not have.
2. Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching: Use the tools that you have (water, sleep, eating organic, proper exercise, stress reductiong, thinking positively, etc). This is huge when you have anyclient, but more importantly when you have a client with a breathingdysfunction. Look into things such as food intolerances, leaky gut,Dysbiosis, parasite/bacterial/fungal infections, immune system reactions(histamine), hormonal imbalances, the type and quality of food being eaten, home and office toxins, stressors in his life, etc. These all can and will create dysfunctions in the body, as well as issues with breathing.
3. There is more to a breathing dysfunction than just breathing inverted. That is why I say refer out. Your client may have a hypo orhypermobile rib(s) dysfunction, there are 3 patterns to breathing (A/P,inf/sup and lat) and he might have a dysfunction will either or all of them,he may have trigger points in his diaphragm, he might have a shoulder issuethat is creating a breathing dysfunction (the shoulder has 5 joints), the shoulder is the foundation of the head and neck so if there is an issuethere, there are certain muscles, etc that will compensate for this, he mayhave an unstable cervical spine creating excessive use of his accessory respiratory muscles, he may have an atlas issue (which it sounds like hedoes) which can create breathing pattern dysfunctions, he might have anunstable SIJ, etc that is creating an atlas issue, he may have excessivehigh levels of estrogen in his body from eating poorly thus creating ligament laxity in the atlas, his TMJ might be out of alignment (for sure itis with a UCS- the mandible actually retrudes creating dysfunction withinthe sling mechanism (buccinators, orbiculus oris and sup pharyngealconstrictor) and the muscles of mastication, it sounds from his forward head, etc that he has short cervical extensors (assymetrical) which willcause the atlas to rotate, shift and/or translate, and on and on and on.
4. In TCM, the nose correlates to the metal element. The nose is the extension or flower of the lung, which is correlated with sadness and being able to let go. As well, the LI is the yang organ that is correlated to letting go of the physical food, etc that you take in. He may and most likely does have an issue with this element. It may be coming from the HT,SI, SP, ST, LV or GB, so it is not so cut and dry. I would refer him out toa TCM as well.
5. There are essential oils that I use that do help with breathing issues. I use Eucalyptus and/or peppermint on the chest to help to open up the airways.
6. Most people in our society are L brained dominant because they are always working, reading, and on the go. This man is one of them. The L brain would correlate with the R nostril and vice versa. If you can (or if youcan’t refer out to a CHEK Level 4), use techniques to stimulate his R brain.Use activities such as meditation, having fun, hobbies, drawing mandala’s, playing an instrument, etc.
7. There are tons of healers out there that can do sound healings inorder to get his R brain more active.
8. Our L brain is more yang and our R brain is more yin, according tothe ancient Chinese text, the Nei Jing. He is more dysfunctional right now and stimulating more of his yang nature. What can he do within his life to create more yin (female, cold, contracting, creativity, L side of body).
9. You can use exercises and movements to work more on incorporating upper to lower, L to L, R to R and contralateral as well (it all depends onhis infant development) that will assist in getting more R brained activity. As well as incorporating both.
10. Doing qi gong, etc on a daily basis really helps to incorporate R to L brain, as well as working on breathing. So as you can see there can be and is a lot to just a breathing dysfunction. There is more, but this should get you started!
Stomach Pains
Josh,
I’ve been experiencing some pretty bad stomach pains in the morning about 5 min after my typical 1 or 2 raw organic eggs whipped up and mixed with about 1/2 glass of organic rice milk. The pain can be really bad and lasts about 5 min and then settles down completely. I’ve been having the raw eggs in the morning for several months now and only recently began feeling the stomach pains.A similar occurrence happened to me about 3 years ago when i was consuming some whey protein powder mixed with a glass of dairy milk for breakfast. Again, everything was fine for the first few months and then the gut renching pains began. I remember I purchased a whey protein concentrate and just mixed that with water and that stopped the pains.I’m wondering if maybe it’s a lack of enzymes because it just seems funny that i can tolerate it for a few months and then unable to all of a sudden.
Paul,
You can do many things:
1. It sounds like you might be intolerant to dairy and eggs. You can eliminate them to see if that helps or do the 90 Food Antigen test from BioHealth (blood test for food intolerances). If you are eating them every morning with rice milk for that matter, you most likely have created an intolerance. When you continually eat that same things over and over, drink with a meal, have some sort of GI issue, you actually create an intolerance to the foods you eat.
When you have a GI issue from stress, meds, sugar, drinking during meals, etc, you create what is called Leaky Gut Syndrome. From there, every time you eat your favorite foods, little particles slip through the “leaks” in your gut and into your body/blood. From there your immune attaches an antibody to this antigen (food particle) and marks it as an invader. So next time you eat that certain food, your body attacks it and there you get your food intolerance and symptoms.
2. You might have a parasite infection. Do the 401H from BioHealth and the GI 2 from Diagnos-Techs to find out. There are stool tests that test for bacteria, fungus and parasites.
I would have to say though by the sound of it, that you have food intolerance’s.
Gaining Weight After Dieting?
When I start eating organic and leading a healthy lifestyle after so many years of dieting, why am I gaining weight?
There are many individual reasons such as hormones, parasites, etc, but here is the simple theory of it:
1. When you diet, you end up bruning muscle for fuel becuase you are taking in very little. Muscle is there to keep the metabolism going and burn calories. This muscle loss slows down your system and causes the calories you eat to turn into fat rather than be burned off for energy.
2. When you diet, this is a HUGE stress to the body. It considers dieting a famine state of being and a red alarm goes off. It does this by lowering the flame of metabolism: levels of T3 (hormone that raises metabolism). This will continue to lower and lower, slowing your metabolism until the correct amount of more calories come in. This is why most women gain weight after dieting. When they start eating again, the body will hold onto anything it can for fuel (storing fat, glucose, etc) because of “its” fear of dieting or famine again. This is the greatest damage and takes time for your body to feel safe again.
